Sneak Peek ;)

So it is 1 in the morning and I cannot fall asleep..
Physically, I am exhausted.. I decided to take on the task of cleaning, organizing and rearranging my closet and scrapbooking stuff today..
In the middle of my cleaning spree I thought to myself.. "I'm supposed to be CLEANING up. Not making a giant mess" (see pic of my bed....a bit overwhelming..) but the good news? It's done! Yay!
So while I am extremely tired, I still have about 53728 things on my mind that I am wanting to blog about, I just cannot get started right now ;) which is why I am typing to you from my phone in the comfort of my bed, instead of up at the computer..
Regardless, tired or not, my mind will not shut off yet, so I thought I would offer you a little "sneak peek" into my goals :
1. Finishing my Wyatt James' first birthday invitations ( I am attempting to make them myself so wish me luck!)
2. Completing my COUPON BINDER!
EEEK! I am way too excited...
3. Starting a "Garden Series" for this blog, named Garden to Table... go ahead, let your curiosity get the best of u! ;)
I am excited for the things to come, and looking forward to sharing with you soon!  Now if there could just be more hours in the day......
Sweet dreams :)

Siblings by birth.....

BEST friends by choice!

Lately I have just been taking time to watch my babies. And I have been so touched.. So proud.. So grateful. Every day I thank my good Lord for giving me the 2 greatest blessings I could have ever asked for. I have been observing the close bond that my children share right now, and it warms my heart. I want to remember every second of it. [because I know that there are times that they will have their "moments" and not exactly act like bff's if you know what I mean ;) ] So here is a little list of things I am loving right now..

I absolutely love the fact that every morning Tay wakes up and comes in to my room, she waits by the monitor to listen for her brother to wake up.

I love that even though Wyatt wakes up saying "mama" he looks right past me when I walk in the door and his eyes light up when he sees his sister.

I love that even before asking for breakfast, juice, or to go outside, Tay and Wyatt spend a good part of the morning playing with toys on his bedroom floor, and laugh and talk with each other. [their favorite toy at the moment, the busy ball popper]

I love that if I ask Tay if she wants to go to the store, she asks me "can brother come with us?"

I love how Tay says "come on broler" and he toddles after her, just grinning ear to ear, laughing hysterically.

I love that if it is naptime and Wyatt is still awake, he will sit outside Tay's room crying (have you ever seen the boy cry? Yes I even love his cry... because it is more of an adorable pout then an actual cry...) and might I add, this usually results in no nap for either, because the door is usually opened, and playing resumes..

I love that when John comes home, Taylor runs squealing to the door, and Wyatt is always right behind her, closely followed by Fifi -- All of them compete to be the loudest ;)

I love that every night we go outside, Taylor asks me to push her on the swing, and then tells me to push brother too, because he wants to go high too.

I love that at dinner time Taylor always asks me to put Wyatt closer to her, even if it means he is able to reach out, grab her plate and throw it to the floor.. (just a hypothetical example of course! hehe)

I love that when it is time for bath time, you better make sure to include both of them, I only tried the "oh Wyatt did not get that dirty today, I will just let Taylor play in the bath a while" ONCE.. Wyatt heard that water, and then commenced the adorable pout outside the door..
And while we are on the subject of bath time, if you saw us you might wonder who took a bath..me or them, with the amount of splashing that goes on between the two of them..

I love the fact that when we say prayers at night, Taylor always thanks Jesus for her brother, her daddy, and mama, and "us family"

I love that when it is time to settle down and watch TV before bed, (Tay's nightly routine) she asks if Wyatt can stay in her room "still a little while".
And for now, this usually results in them playing for 30 more minutes, on and off the bed, laughing, giggling and procrastinating..  Maybe one day Wyatt will slow down for a moment and watch TV with his sister. Just maybe ;)

I love my kids.
Thank you Jesus.

A Work In Progress....

Hi there!
I have been having fun designing my blog.. I am a bit OCD and a bit of a perfectionist... I have changed the fonts, backgrounds, colors, etc of this blog so many times, I have lost count. Every time I think I have gotten it the way I like it, I change it.... I want it to be "just right". Well, for the most part, I think I am happy with the background and colors... now just to work on some more fun "gadgets". Perhaps this can be something for you to look forward to! ;) As I was sitting here working on the blog, a verse came to mind.

[ ...being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6]

Sometimes it is hard to be optimistic. Hard to see why bad things happen to good people. Hard to see why the economy is failing or natural disasters are occuring. But that is what is so beautiful about this verse. Things do not have to be perfect, we do not have to be perfect. We are God's work in progress. This verse reminds us that he will not leave us, he is not going to abandon us in our times of trouble. We are to be confident that he will continue his good work in us.

God is not a quitter. He started something in you, and this verse assures us that he will not quit.

Be blessed and be encouraged. :)

Momma's Boy

Well hello there!

I am finally back and have a new post! Woo hoo! I have missed writing and yes I know... I only wrote three entries before I lost track of time and neglected my poor blog.... But I am back. (for now. hehe)

Lets see what happened between now and my last entry. In a nutshell....

My birthday..
..Christmas
New Years..
..Teething Baby
Crawling Baby..
..Standing Baby
Almost cruising baby..
..Family flu
Valentine's Day
Dad's 50th birthday planning
Taylor's 3rd party planning

So... that about sums up the past 3 months of my life :) I am determined to keep up this blog a little bit better.. Starting today. :)

Today I woke up to a new sound.. Usually when Wyatt wakes up he just fusses. For those of you who know him, know that he rarely crys. He mostly makes a grumbling sound. Quite like a grumpy little man, belly achin. ;) But today was something new, as I listened on the monitor I hear, a bit of grumbling followed by a very clear mmmm---aaaaa.

Yes. I do believe he was trying to say Mama. And it melted my heart.

When John got home I told him that I thought Wyatt was trying Mama, and he just grinned, shaking his head. See, Taylor's first word was Dada. She is his little girl, and she knows she has her daddy wrapped. So I believe John might think I am trying to imagine things up. After all, everyone knows that it is easier for babies to pronounce a D rather than an M.

Well..we were getting the kids ready for bed, and Wyatt was a little fussy, ready for his nightime bottle. And sure enough, it happened again, this time with John standing there. I heard it, the "mmmmm" sound followed by a short "MA!" I looked up to see if John was paying attention and he had a big smile on his face. No denying it this time ;)

He looked at Wyatt and said "Are you a Momma's boy?" and he looked at me and said "Would that make you happy?"

What do you think :)

Truth is, it doesn't matter to me whether he says Momma, Dada, or anything else. It just makes me so happy to see him growing, developing, and forming word sounds. But yes, if the boy loves and wants his mama, my heart is beaming with pride. I am going to enjoy all I can right now, because I know in a very short time he will be all grown up and I will miss these times very much.

It's the most WONDERFUL time of the year :)

I find it funny that my last post was titled "where does the time go" AND the fact that it was more than a month ago since I wrote. So once again I ask, where does the time go???? OMG CHRISTMAS IS IN A WEEK! This time of year is so incredibly exciting for me. My birthday and Christmas go hand and hand and I LOVE it!
People always tell me that it must be hard to have a birthday so close to Christmas.. That it kind of gets forgotten... But I would not have it any other way! Christmas time is my favorite time of year, so it is just a major bonus to me that my birthday falls during that time of year. Wouldn't you love getting to open presents for your bday - then 6 days later, get to open some more? Hehe. But really.. All material aspects put aside, the true SPIRIT of Christmas is the best thing to share with my birthday. It is a time to be so grateful for Jesus being born, and making the ultimate sacrifice so that we may be free! It's so easy to get caught up in the shopping and the wrapping and the baking, and to overlook the TRUE meaning. Yes, don't get me wrong, the hustle and bustle of all those things is VERY fun and exciting. As a matter of fact, I have a busy week ahead of me. Finishing Christmas shopping tomorrow, taking the kids to see Santa Tuesday, baking cookies at my Grandma's on Wednesday, Thursday free.. Then CHRISTMAS EVE! So yes, get excited about presents, get overjoyed by your kids innocence at visiting Santa, enjoy time with family making holiday goodies, but let's remember who is responsible for giving us all these blessings.

*For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.* John 3:16

Be blessed and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS! ♥
