Car Wash... A Scary Place?

Who knew... That a car wash could be so frightening! I certainly didn't. But I was soon to find out that my sweet Wyatt was NOT a fan of the car wash. Last week we had the first sunny day in a long time. I took advantage of that and went to the car wash! I expected Taylor to cover her ears as usual...

 But, I wasn't prepared for Wyatt's reaction!

Bawling. Tears. Begging for me to hold his little hand.

So for the length of the wash, I sat back and held his little hand.

Poor baby.
I think I will spare him the car washes for a while.
When we got home, I still wanted to clean the inside, and a few spots on the outside, and for that I had some fabulous little helpers. Wyatt liked washing cars from the outside.

Coco even dunked her head in the bucket.

And tah dah! Finally clean!

Before we got in it to head out this weekend, I told John "Look... My car looks and smells nice. Let's enjoy it while it lasts!" Ha ha...
I think I would like a dust buster for my car!

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you have a fabulous week :)

Rainy Market Days

This weekend was so much fun.
We certainly had the rainiest weekend to date this year, here in the dry state of Texas.
But, oh my goodness. It was simply amazing!

My grandma's sister (my great Aunt Joyce) was visiting for the week and my mom and I had plans to take them out on a fun day somewhere.
We decided on Boerne Market Days.
My mom and I like to frequent Boerne often. There are so many quaint little shops, and you are always bound to find something unique. Especially when they host market days. Seeing as how my Aunt had never been, we were excited to take her.
RAIN.OR.SHINE.

Friday night, the hubby, kids, and I, packed it up and went to have a sleepover at my mom's house. I have found that waking up at my mom's house to leave somewhere early, is alot easier than trying to drag my 2 non-morning people kiddos, out of the house before 10 AM.

Here is Taylor. . . not sleeping. (clearly) :)
Saturday morning. 6 AM I woke up to the unfamiliar sound of rain on the roof! Thinking our plans might be washed out, I fell back asleep. My mom came in at 9 and woke me up saying that the rain had stopped and let's get a move on it! We were burning daylight! (her favorite phrase, the one I have been hearing since I was a little girl. . .) And up we went!

We arrived to Boerne, encountering only a little rain on the way. We made it through two booths, before the rain started up. Immediately we all tried to huddle under the safety of the little pop up tent. 4 women, and 2 strollers, I'd say we overcrowded the poor woman's display space.
The rain stopped, and we continued on our stroll. Then the rain came again. Commence huddling. This process continued for about 30 minutes, but we were having a lot of fun!
The kids have barely experienced any rainfall in their lives, so they were eating it up. Who doesn't love splashing in the rain? :)

The rain stopped for quite a while, and we were able to walk up and down main street, going in and out of the different shops.

Wyatt (like most men) had his fill of shopping, and fell asleep on us.

We were planning on stopping for ice cream, when a bigger, black cloud seemed to be making it's way over to us.

That is when we decided to head to the safety of our vehicle and go for Dairy Queen. :)
On our way home we saw a full rainbow. God's promise in action. I love it.

I am thankful for the rain, and for the awesome weekend I got to spend with my family.

Every day I am thankful for my mom and the fun times we share.

I love that my kids get to grow up with their Great Grandparents.

I loved watching Aunt Joyce play with the kids, and them get to spend time with their Great-Great Aunt.

It was a beautiful weekend.

A first...

Tonight was a first in my adventure as a momma...
John and I headed to New Braunfels this evening because he had a softball game. We decided to go to dinner with our friends Eric & Whitney before. On the way there, Taylor started complaining that her tummy hurt. Thinking she was just hungry I didn't give it too much thought. We went to the table, ordered, had just got our food when Tay said she had to go to the potty, quick! Well, I get up to walk her there and right there, in the middle of the restaurant.....she throws up. All over the floor, on both of our feet...
Oh.my.gosh. A thousand things ran through my mind in that split second.. "What on earth upset her stomach? Oh no, is it the stomach bug again? Is she going to do it again? Will these flip flops go in the washer?" (Yes I will admit I had a fleeting concern for my favorite pink flip flops)
Then I became keenly aware of the stares of everyone in the restaurant looking at us just standing there staring at the ground. And the lady less than a foot away looking like she might throw up too. I wanted to disappear into the ground...
Then mom rescue mode kicked in; I quickly grabbed a napkin, held it up for Tay in case she had to do it again, and rushed to the opposite side of the restaurant, praying the entire way we would make it to the bathroom..
We made it, but thankfully no more throwing up... We sat there in the bathroom, partially waiting to make sure it passed, and partially because I was waiting for the shock to wear off outside. Haha. I will never forget the look Tay gave me next. She looked up very pathetic and weak looking, she wrinkled those eyebrows and said "momma...if I am done throwing up now, can I still go to the ballpark" Oh she is her daddy's child. And I love them both more than I can express... I smiled and thought as mortifying as that moment was in the restaurant, I wouldn't trade this mommy moment for anything...
We walked back out, aware of the stares as we made our way back to the table, but it was OK... Things happen right :)
We went on with the evening, spending time with great friends, and playing softball at the park...
Whatever it was passed as quickly as it happened and was left behind....there on the floor of Adobe Cafe. ;)
